Holding a government "job" comes with extra obligations and responsibilities beyond those an honest person has.
If you work for government, you are obligated to never hide your face while on the clock, even if it puts you at risk.
If you work for government in America, you are obligated to obey the Constitution to the letter- not the Supreme Courtjesters' "interpretation" of what the Constitution might mean if government has its way, but what it really says. Even if this means disobeying a direct order under threat of death, losing your "job"/pension, or being imprisoned.
If you work for government, it is your responsibility to die before you violate anyone's life, liberty, or property in the slightest way, or in defense of anyone's life, liberty, or property. Your life is forfeit if there's any rights violation going on in your vicinity, if that's what it takes to stop it. Whether you are the violator or not.
If you are unwilling or unable to fulfill these obligations and responsibilities, you are unfit for a government "job". So, obviously, this proves that no one is suited for a government "job".
Tips are nice.
It's not just the government worker who is at risk, though, if they show their face. The radical leftists have a history of stalking, threatening, harassing and even assaulting family members as well. Does an ICE agent's children, for example, deserve being attacked by lunatics because of what their father does for a living?
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I can't reply directly.
ReplyDeleteAnyway...
I would never target family members, nor support those who do, but I do think family members could help convince those doing wrong to stop doing wrong because of the danger they are being placed in. I also think it might be good if some were persuaded to change careers over concern for their loved ones, even if their family doesn't try to talk them into changing.
I don't think the "job" of "ICE agent" should exist. If there's an actual rights violation occurring, there are better ways of dealing with it that don't involve government employees and stolen money and additional rights violations.
Doing wrong needs to be costly. But don't attack family members. Ever. That's sinking to the level of government.
Apparently Blogger broke the Reply link. lol
ReplyDeleteFamily members often don't have much influence over the "government worker" family member. My father was a DEA agent (he actually started when it was the "Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs") for 20 years. My brother and I had many, many discussions, debates and outright arguments with him about his job over the years, but it got us nowhere.
But far too many on the Left are completely unhinged, and I think some wouldn't hesitate to endanger children. So while I agree with you that the Federal government has NO constitutional authority over immigration and ICE should be disbanded, I completely understand why the ICE agents are wearing masks in public.
Oh, I understand why; I don't think they should be allowed to. The fact that they do so only adds to their illegitimacy in my eyes. (As if more illegitimacy makes any real difference.)
ReplyDeleteBut, if I found myself in the position of defending an ICE agent's kids from protesters, I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't gloss over the fact that the ICE agent parent is a bad guy, without a doubt. Just as bad as the dangerous protesters.
If I had any influence over my relatives, none would work for government at any level... but many of them do (mostly in govschooling).
It's all just more examples of politics making people stupid, and usually at least a little evil, too.
