Government has become too important in our daily lives. Not because it's actually important to our existence, but because it interferes with everything we do, and then threatens to hurt us if we resist its meddling.

In a relevant issue, the negligent response to Hurricane Helene is getting scrutiny. The Press has not covered it much and many communities in Tennessee and North Carolina are flooded out and cut off from the rest of the world. The disaster relief is slow in coming. Relatives are using social media to ask for information on locals, as their own communications aren't working. The White House just sent 700 National Guardsmen to Kuwait when they could be much better used in the affected areas.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad for the people who have been trained to believe government will save them in the event of an emergency. Or a war. Or anything. Government saves itself. Maybe you'll be saved in the process ("collateral assistance"?) , but that's not the important part.
