Statists love false "either/or" scenarios. Either you agree to their beloved police state tactics, or obviously you just advocate chaos, death, and destruction. I actually have an example from a few days ago.
In response to my post against checkpoints (on G+), some Comrade Kapitalism guy actually claimed that since I was against checkpoints (which he claimed are not intrusive and are effective at protecting people from drunk drivers), then I was against ALL safety measures. Yes, ALL of them.
So I told him about a safety measure that could actually work without violating everyone's rights, and he said that (under the current situation) it's too expensive.
Government extremists want it both ways. If you don't go along with what they want, then you want "nothing" to be done. Just like if you don't want people robbed to finance libraries, you hate libraries. If you show that they are wrong, they'll just find another thing to whine about. They are nimble whiners.
Cowards, lazy non-thinkers, and ethical cripples. It's what makes a statist a statist.
A bus full of people is traveling down a country road, two of which are armed security guards. It comes to an intersection giving three choices. They can turn down the road that takes them to a trap where they will all be taken as political prisoners, another that runs off of a cliff, and another that goes to paradise.
ReplyDeleteEveryone decides that democracy/mob rule is the way and argues over whether to dive off of a cliff or be taken prisoner while two recommend paradise. The two opting for paradise get rejected, told that paradise is too good to be true.
They, of course, argue that it is just the name of a nice little town that is kind of hidden, that it isn't actually supposed to be paradise, and that it is certainly better than death or slavery. But they are ultimately rejected, told to obey or else.
They decide to exit the bus and walk to paradise. But when they try they are told they aren't 'allowed' to leave and will be shot if they disobey.
So they complain but still obey, and everyone decides slavery is better than death, and so the bus travels down the road to their eventual capture where they live lives of forced hard labor and service to their masters who eventually fully exploit it to unspeakably inhumane degrees. The slaves reproduce and their children and grandchildren suffer forever and ever without ever being taught the difference, having never understood what freedom is, trained from birth as if their only value is to be of service to their masters.
