A Triumph of "Gun Control"

In quiet contemplation of "Gun Control Success Day", I post this illustration from Scott Bieser. Remember: They hate us because we are free.

  1. The faulty assumption being made in that cartoon is that on 9/11 the hijackers would still attempt to take over the planes even though people have guns (and I'm sure they would figure that out if people were allowed to carry guns on planes).

The box cutters were used because they knew the plane would be full of unsuspecting people with no weapons to defend themselves.

  2. However, even a few guns against a couple dozen guns puts things in the good guys' favor. It wouldn't have been attempted.

  3. If the author of that cartoon means land of the free like I do, then no armed thugs claiming to represent this "land of the free" would have gone over there and stirred up the hornet's nest; thus one of the biggest reasons for 9/11 in the first place.

There's just too many false assumptions being made in that cartoon which is why I don't like it that much. Good heart, but in the wrong place.

  4. I'm fairly certain he would agree with you on the point about the underlying cause of the attack.
