Science: Dark matter

This idea struck me, and I don't know if it has any merit, or if it does, whether someone else has already considered it, but....

Maybe dark matter is just "normal" matter existing in the curled up extra dimensions predicted by string theory, superstring theory, and M-theory. Seems like a good place to hide most of the Universe if you ask me.

UPDATE: I did a quick Google search before I posted this and came up with no matches, but later a more in-depth search shows that others have had this idea before me. Good. Now I hope someone figures out a good way to test it.

  1. Is it possible that the foundational assumptions of the theoretical sciences all express a common misunderstanding? From cosmology, the “queen of the sciences,” a core dogma of the 20th century filtered down through every discipline, constraining our ideas about galaxy and star formation and ultimately (from the same underlying assumptions) all of the space sciences, infecting our views of earth history and even our sense of what it means to be human. The core dogma was the idea that gravity alone, seen through the lens of general relativity, rules the cosmos.

Kent, please check out some of these ideas. They are based on real science, not theory or science fiction. It also is a mind-blower when relating to ancient mythology. It is the only idea I've heard that makes sense about why mythology shaped the way it did.

    1. I am sorry, but I just now discovered this in my spam comments and approved it. I really thought I had checked more recently than that.... Guess not!
