Those who want you to doubt that anarchy (self-ownership and individual responsibility) is the best, most moral, and ethical way to live among others are asking you to accept that theft, aggression, superstition, and slavery are better.
A few reasons. I thought it gave the coin a nice radial symmetry, a lot of "pirate era" coins had them, and I thought some "Christian patriot" types might like it, even though I am not into such things.
I like it. It's patriotic, yet piratical. I don't know if I like this or the LibreCoin (http://www.librecoins.com/) better - they both appeal to me. Now, if only I had money to invest.
