Police can be helpful, or they can choose to enforce “The law”.
I’ve seen videos of cops trying to warn people of oncoming tornadoes or other dangers, or trying to help those who didn’t get to safety in time, and I’m grateful for what those individuals do at that moment, no matter who they are.
But most cops rarely get the opportunity to do helpful things and instead spend their time doing harm by enforcing legislation.
The problem is that no one needs a badge to be helpful, but being harmful by enforcing legislation is something only those with a badge do.
Be good. Do good. Be helpful. Don’t be harmful by enforcing “laws”. There’s enough bad in the world without you contributing to it.
