Twinsies!

I see the left-statists whining that the "NPC" thing is "alt-right", but it works equally well both ways. Don't you think so?

It's hard to "dehumanize" someone who has dehumanized themselves. And nothing is more dehumanizing than collectivism. Of any variety.

  1. NPC struck deep with lefties because deep down they know it applies to them.

GOP crowd mostly haven't figured out that they accept 'the state' as their overlord and savior. different shape maybe, but the same beast.

    1. Collectivism...
If anarchists were a collective rather than a bunch of individuals with one important characteristic in common it would apply to them too. But they don't seem very collectivized to me.

    2. What would it take to buy a few square miles of good land, make a deal with 'authorities' to declare it sovereign territory, then build "Libertopia"?

...which would probably look like Vegas after about 30-40 years. ..but put it somewhere with a lot of vegetation and not too cold.

    3. As soon as it began to "look like Vegas" the "authorities" would break their previous agreement (or try) because they'd see property to loot.

But if I had the money, I'd make an attempt. It's where I want to live (and I know this for certain due to experiences).

    4. You could always get nukes or an air force in anticipation of such an event.

That would be expensive though. Maybe do like Castro and get foreign backing?

    5. What if we did it completely legally, like the FSP? Find the least populated county in the country and use our superior numbers to elect candidates whose job will be to disband / unincorporate all local government. After ending all agreements with the state / federal police of course. Then all we have to deal with are state and federal laws. Perhaps something like Billings County North Dakota? We would probably only need 700-1000 people to legally gain control of the entire county.

    6. Actually, based on voting records, it would only take 300-650 people to take complete control of Billings County, ND...

    7. I'd have to ponder the ethics of "forcing" liberty on people. I really have trouble imagining how anyone could feel that is hurting them, but I know how people are.

    8. We could grandfather the existing residents in or leave the existing laws in place but make them unenforceable. Kindof a "if you like your government, you can keep it" thing.

    9. Or we could simply turn the county into an opt-in service. The county / towns mail out tax "bills" once per year. Anyone who pays their bill is then entitled to use all the services of the county / town. Anyone who doesn't can still contract with any departments they like (roads / libraries / police / fire). Anyone who pays the whole bill or pays for the police would also be entitled to have the town / county laws imposed on themselves. I suspect the government would disappear on it's own, but if the people there really liked it, they could keep it.

    10. I like the opt-in idea. I've actually used the "if you like your government, you can keep it" line on statists before. The problem they have with that (in my experience) is that it's not good enough-- they want to be able to impose their government on others, too.

    11. Well, if they don't like the rules we set up, they can always move to Somalia!

    1. Either one if they subscribe to collectivism. Minarchists seem much more prone to collectivism than anarchists, but I can imagine collectivist anarchists. Because it's the collectivism that is dehumanizing, not the particular flavor of collectivism.

  4. What do you mean by "NPC"?

Urban Dictionary defines it as "A play on video games "non-player character" mixed with a play on The Simulation Hypothesis.

An NPC is seemingly a human that is unable to think objectively.

We exist in a simulated reality and some humans take on the role of NPCs, spouting "opinions" they are programmed to spout and repeating in a cult-like manner."

    1. Yeah, that's what the NPC meme is. Twitter is banning it, apparently.
